What is Global Music Project?
Global Music Project (GMP) is a non-profit organization whereby artists from around the world donate music and the proceeds from the sale of that music go toward bettering the world.
How does GMP "better the world"?
By contributing to Global Music Project, you are helping support our music preservation efforts. Throughout the world there are countries threatened by globalization. Our growing team, soon to include audio/video recording engineers, volunteers, and security personnel, will go where great music is being made for the last time and record it, thereby preserving their culture and allowing others to discover it.
What is an MP3?
MP3 is a type of file format which compresses songs to a small, manageable size.
Are they legal?
Yes, assuming the artist and/or label has agreed to allow you to convert and/or distribute the song in the .mp3 format.
How can I play MP3s?
You can download a player for free. Most people use Windows Media Player or the Real One player.
I don't care if I get music. Can I still make a donation to GMP?

I'm an artist and I was having trouble uploading my MP3. What should I do?
We may be experiencing a high volume of traffic. Please be patient and try again later.
How do I convert a song from my CD to an MP3?
There are many free programs on the Web that convert songs from a CD to the .mp3 format. You can try doing a search on the Web or go to http://www.download.com and click on "Burners" under Audio & Video.
Can I send you my music instead of uploading it?
Sorry, we do not accept CDs. We need your detailed artist information so that our visitors are able to search for music they may like, whether it be by genre, geographic location, musical influence, or other factors. If you have experienced problems with the uploading process, please wait and then try it again. Also, please make sure that the file (song) you upload ends with ".mp3". We appreciate your patience and generosity. Thank you for making a difference!

Can I give away or sell the music I purchased from this website?
Although some of the artists/labels here at Global Music Project may allow and even encourage you to further promote the music by distributing it to friends, as a general rule music that you download should be considered to be for your own personal use only. You can feel free to play it for others but please do not give the music away freely. But please DO send your friends to Global Music Project! :-)
